1. Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you and [[LEGAL NAME]], [[SOLE TRADER / LIMITED COMPANY DETAILS]], of [[POSTAL ADDRESS]] ([[CONTACT EMAIL]]). By using GoalSides you accept them.
2. Your account
You need an account to save stats or host online rooms. You must give an email address you control, keep your password to yourself, and be at least [[MINIMUM AGE]]. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your display name is shown to other players. Do not choose one that impersonates someone, advertises anything, or is offensive. We can change or remove a name that breaks this, and suspend accounts that repeatedly do.
3. What is free and what is not
A free account lets you play every game solo, play locally with people in the room, and join online rooms other people host. Membership costs £4.00 a month and adds saved stats and history, member profile icons, the ability to host online rooms, and no advertising.
We may change what is included in each tier. If a change materially reduces what your membership gives you, we will tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel.
4. Paying
Membership is £4.00 per month including VAT where applicable, taken by Stripe on the day you subscribe and the same day each month after. It renews automatically until you cancel. We will tell you at least [[NOTICE PERIOD, 30 DAYS SUGGESTED]] before any price change, and you can cancel rather than accept it.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account menu, which opens the billing portal. No email, no phone call. Your membership runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Full details, including your 14-day right to change your mind, are in our cancellation and refunds policy.
6. Using the site properly
Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the site, automate play, interfere with other people’s games, or use GoalSides to harass anyone. We can suspend accounts that do.
7. About the football data
The player and club data behind the games is compiled from public sources and is offered for entertainment. It may be incomplete or out of date, and we do not warrant it as accurate. Do not rely on it for anything that matters, and certainly not for betting.
GoalSides is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any club, league, competition or governing body, and club names are used only to identify real teams.
8. Online rooms
Room setup is shared between the devices playing, so a determined player with developer tools could see information the game intends to hide — in Football Imposter, that includes who the imposter is. Rooms are meant for playing with people you know. We say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise.
9. Availability
We aim to keep GoalSides running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or withdraw games. If we withdraw something a membership specifically pays for and do not replace it, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of that month.
10. Our responsibility to you
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Otherwise, and because GoalSides is a game, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
11. Ending things
You can close your account at any time by emailing [[CONTACT EMAIL]]. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless we are not allowed to.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your own courts.
